Members of Borealis with pianist Libby Yu
Two members of the critically-acclaimed Borealis String Quartet will be joined onstage by a fellow musician and friend, Libby Yu, on piano, for a concert featuring music selections from well-loved classical composers. Vancouver-based Yuel Yawney, violinist, and Sungyong Lim, cellist, are tremendously talented and accomplished musicians who have travelled the world as part of the Borealis String Quartet, playing to sold-out audiences. They will be performing alongside Libby Yu, an exceptional Vancouver pianist who has recorded with CBC, performed internationally as a soloist and played with orchestras across Canada, the US and Europe.
The Whistler Chamber Music Society regrets that, due to circumstances beyond their control, the full Borealis Quartet is unable to perform in Whistler as specified in our brochure.
Touch of Brass April 5th, 2020 has been cancelled. We will make every effort to reschedule this. If you have purchased season tickets, here are some options:
-donate the remaining value the last concert to the Whistler Chamber Music Society. We are a non-profit Society, not a Registered Charity so are unable to issue a tax receipt. Your donation will enable us to pass on some compensation to the musicians whose livelihoods are affected by this unfortunate turn of events.
-hang on to your ticket in the event that the Touch of Brass can be rescheduled later this year, and if it can’t, show your ticket at the first concert of the 2020-2021 season for a 10% discount off season tickets.
-receive a refund for the value of the last concert – $17 (contact us for details)
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this uncertain time.
