Mathieu-Chua Duo
HIDDEN GEMS BY WOMEN COMPOSERS
The dynamic duo of Veronique Mathieu, violin, and Stephanie Chua, piano, are celebrated for their dramatic sense of expression, balance and poise. Blending their distinctive personalities together to create a singular musical voice, they seek to contribute to the evolution of classical music as well as forge new connections between composers and audiences.
For this concert, these compelling artists pay musical homage to the many innovative women composers of various times and cultures. The programme for violin and piano will span more than three centuries of music and will shed light on the social and cultural constructs of gender by highlighting women composers from the Baroque period through to present day.
